Wawa Dam in RIZAL

Wawa Dam is a hidden paradise in Montalban, Rizal. That is the reason why it is also call Montalban Dam. You will see it after passing through mountains and forests at Rizal. It is a gravity dam constructed over the Marikina River in the municipality of Rodriguez in Rizal province, Philippines. As you can see it looks like a wide range of waterfalls. Since it became a tourist spot in Rizal, they built small cottages on the foot of the dam near the falling waters where you could stand there and take photos. Maybe they built the cottages that near to the wide range waterfalls of the dam to see the beauty of the scenery in front of them and enjoy eating their packed foods while enjoying the sounds of water falls of the dam. You must strengthen your legs while standing at the foot of the dam or else you will be taken away by pressure of the water. The wide range of waterfalls of dam became a background spot for those who loves to take pictures with it.

But before seeing that beautiful scenery of Wawa Dam, you will walk through the sides of mountain rocks where they built a walk way. You can see the Rock formation and the man made rock that the people added in the walk way to wawa dam. The barrier was built in the most edge of the walk way so be careful and don't lean or put too much of your weight while leaning at the barrier while seeing the beautiful rock formation on the mountain at the opposite side of your place.

These are the giants rocks the you will see on your left while walking on the walk way to Wawa Dam.

This shot was captured on upper right side of the wawa dam through the walk way going to the upper part of the dam. You will pass a metal bridge there where you have to pay 3 pesos.

After passing the edge of the dam, you will go through the roofless building. This located at the left part of the photo. It looks like a tower or house ruins that have a beautiful site on the edge of the dam. The photo below was captured while we are on a balsa. As you can see, there are two mountains and they were divided by the water flow from the wawa dam and the giant rocks on it. The water is clear but it looks like emerald color on the photo because there are so deep parts.

If you wanted to go roaming on the place, you could rent a balsa. The owners will let you row n your own the balsa and used it as long as you want too but don't forget to return it to them and pay your rental. There were balsa that are open and there were close like floating house. We rented an open floating house for 300 pesos.

It was so relaxing especially there are parts of the dam that there are less people and very quite. If you will try rowing and driving the balsa, you will learned that there are only portions that the bamboo can reach where you can push away the balsa from the bottom in able to move the balsa. if the bamboo can't reach the bottom anymore, then it was your time to make the row using the bamboo. The owners of the balsa were so nice that they gave you your privacy to roam over the place by yourselves only.

If you are looking for a place to shoot for your movie projects that your venue needs to be in a forest or in a river side, you can shoot here. While shooting your movie project, you were also relaxing. This place is so good to feature a beautiful nature.
